Born in Dresden (DE) Anke Dunkel finished High-school in Erfurt (DE) in 2001. Until 2002 she has been working in Paris as an Au-Pair. From 2002 to 2006 Anke was enrolled in a 4 years Double Diploma Program of the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster (DE) and SciencesPo Lille (F) finishing the diploma with a thesis on the impact of vocational training on youth unemployment in Germany. In the same year (2006) she got accepted at the College of Europe Natolin Campus (Poland) to do a 1 year Master of Arts in Advanced Interdisciplinary European Studies. She accomplished the Master with a thesis about the extend to which lobby groups can influence the legislative process of the European Union including a case study of the Communication on an EU Strategy to support Member States in reducing alcohol related harm. In between she had the opportunity to gain work experience doing several internships mostly in the field of Communication: - Press Office of the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster - The Fine Arts Museum in Lille (France) - Press and Communication Department Volkswagen - Federal Press Office Germany - European Commission (DG Enterprise and Industry) Anke began her Ph.D studies in March 2008 at the Institute of Communication and Health where she also works as an research assistant. Her Ph.D is about microcultural differences in Switzerland - the effectiveness of targeted promotional messages in the field of organ donation.
